Status on 20 October 2026
JEE Main 2027 registration has not opened yet. NTA’s examination calendar fixes Session 1 for 22–24 and 28–30 January 2027 (tentative), and in recent cycles the application form opened in the last week of October. When it opens, you apply only on jeemain.nta.nic.in. This page is updated as soon as NTA publishes the notice.

If you register for Session 1, you can usually choose both sessions in the same form; Session 2 also reopens for new candidates around February. Check the information bulletin for the exact rule.
Who can apply
- No age limit.
- Class 12 (or equivalent) passed in the previous two years or appearing in the exam year. In the 2026 cycle: passed in 2024 or 2025, or appearing in 2026.
- For B.E./B.Tech: Physics and Mathematics, with one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject.
- Admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs also needs 75% in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST) or a top-20-percentile position in your board. See JEE Main cutoff for the qualifying percentiles.

Fees are higher for centres outside India and for both papers. The 2027 fee will be in the bulletin; pay only through the payment step inside the official application.
Documents to keep ready
- Recent passport-size photograph and your signature, scanned in the format the bulletin asks for.
- Class 10 certificate: your name and date of birth must match it exactly.
- Class 12 details (roll number and board), or school details if you are appearing.
- Aadhaar or another valid photo ID. Make sure your name and date of birth on Aadhaar match your Class 10 certificate before you start.
- Category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) and PwD certificates, if applicable, in the format and validity period the bulletin specifies.
- An email address and mobile number you will keep for the next two years.
How to fill the JEE Main application form
- Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in and open the registration link for the current session.
- Register with your email and mobile number, verify them, and note your application number and password.
- Fill in personal, academic and contact details exactly as on your documents.
- Choose the paper (Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech), exam language and four exam cities near you.
- Upload the photograph, signature and certificates.
- Pay the fee online and download the confirmation page. Keep it until admissions are over.
Mistakes to avoid
- Name or date-of-birth mismatch with the Class 10 certificate: it can cause problems at JoSAA document verification.
- Wrong category: you cannot claim a reserved seat later if you registered as General, and a wrong claim can cancel your seat.
- Filling more than one form: it can lead to cancellation. Use the correction window instead.
- Waiting for the last day: the portal slows down near the deadline.

When will JEE Main 2027 registration start?
NTA has not announced the date yet. In recent cycles, Session 1 registration opened in the last week of October and stayed open for about a month.
What is the JEE Main 2027 application fee?
The 2027 fee is not out yet. In the 2026 cycle it was ₹1,000 for General/EWS/OBC-NCL male candidates, ₹800 for female candidates and ₹500 for SC/ST/PwD/third gender candidates (one paper, centre in India).
Can I apply for both sessions together?
In recent cycles, the Session 1 form let candidates choose both sessions. Session 2 also reopens for new applicants around February.
Can I correct my JEE Main application form?
Yes, during the correction window NTA opens after the form closes. Some fields such as mobile number and email are usually locked, so enter them carefully.
Is Aadhaar mandatory for JEE Main?
Follow the 2027 bulletin. Either way, make sure your name and date of birth match across Aadhaar and your Class 10 certificate before you register.
