JEE Main Rank Predictor: Marks to Percentile & Rank

Estimate your JEE Main percentile and CRL rank from your marks, adjusted for shift difficulty, then see the colleges your rank can reach.

Reviewed by Abhishek Jha · 15+ years in JEE teaching and counselling Updated
Rank = (100 − percentile) × 15,50,000 candidates ÷ 100.

The JEE Main Rank Predictor estimates your percentile and All India (CRL) rank from your marks. JEE Main is held across many shifts and NTA normalises scores into percentiles, so the same marks can mean different percentiles in different shifts. That is why the tool gives a range, not a single number.

How the rank predictor works

  1. Marks to percentile: your marks are matched against percentile anchors observed for easy, moderate and tough shifts. If you know your shift’s difficulty, choose it for a narrower range.
  2. Percentile to rank: NTA’s percentile tells you the share of candidates who scored at or below you. Your approximate rank is (100 − percentile) × total candidates ÷ 100.
  3. Rank to colleges: use the button under your result to see which programmes your rank reached in the latest JoSAA counselling.

How accurate is it?

For scores in the middle and upper range, the estimate is usually close enough for counselling planning. It is less reliable at the extremes, and in years where the number of candidates or the paper difficulty changes sharply. Your final rank also depends on your best percentile across both sessions and on tie-breaking rules. Treat the output as a planning range and use the official NTA scorecard once it is published.
